Having grown up and completed school in Austria, I was accepted into Vienna’s University of Applied Arts’ five year paintings conservation and restoration masterclass. In 1987 I graduated with the degree Magister Artium. Soon after I found employment in the paintings conservation department of Vienna’s Kunsthistorische Museum. Among other responsibilities, I was tasked with overseeing the preparation and transportation of over twenty important paintings to Essen, Germany for the 1988 exhibit “Prag um 1600”.
In 1989, searching for a bit more challenge and adventure, I uprooted and moved to New York City. There I was privileged to spend three years working for respected objects conservator Friedrich Mang. In 1992 I opened my own studio in Manhattan, where I came to specialize in working on very high end and important ceramics for a wide range of clients. In 2003 I was approached by Oxford Authentication, Ltd to become their agent for New York City. Since then I have been authenticating antiques in addition to my conservation work.
In 2011, desiring a change of pace, I relocated to beautiful Lakewood, Colorado. I very much look forward to meeting and working with new clients here.
